Marcy Conner joined the Center for Counseling and Family Relationships in 2016. She earned her Bachelor’s degree from Baylor University in Psychology and a Master’s of Education in Counseling from Texas Tech University. Marcy received her License as a Professional Counselor in 2009. Her background includes counseling individuals in a rehabilitative medical setting and pain management. Marcy worked with a Children’s Advocacy Center helping children and family members find healing from the trauma of sexual abuse. She has continued to gain experience counseling adolescents, adults, and couples in a private practice.
Marcy is certified from the University of Texas Arlington/School of Social Work in Trauma and Abuse. She is also certified with the Couples Institute and The Developmental Model of Couples Therapy in order to help couples resolve issues and create strong, loving relationships.
Marcy is passionate about determining the right fit between herself and her client with the belief that the relationship can be the catalyst for healing and growth. She uses a wide variety of therapeutic skills, and incorporates educational components that effectively promote change by facilitating a client through self-awareness and emotional healing, setting goals, effectively managing their psychological health, and increasing their coping and tolerance to promote their experience of greater success in life overall.
Marcy works with children and adolescents ages 12 to 18, adults, couples and families with the following issues: ADHD, anger management, anxiety, blended families, depression, grief/loss, marital/relationship, parenting issues, pre-marital, PTSD and child/adulthood trauma and abuse, rehabilitation counseling and pain management, self-esteem, women’s issues and spirituality.
