Charlena Priddy joined the Center for Counseling and Family Relationships in 2021. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Communication Studies from the University of North Texas in 2006. Charlena completed her Master’s degree in Counseling and Development at Texas Woman’s University in 2017. She received her License as a Professional Counselor and became a Registered Play Therapist in 2020. Prior to becoming a counselor, she worked as an elementary school teacher for several years. Charlena’s prior counseling experience includes working with children and adolescents in foster care and as a mental health counselor for school districts. She has also counseled individuals of all ages in private practice and non-profit settings.
Charlena believes that every individual has intrinsic value and worth. She believes people are not defined by their behaviors, but that behaviors simply point to deeper issues of the heart. Charlena prioritizes her clients’ sense of trust and safety in the counseling relationship as a necessary ingredient for healing and change to occur.
