Kolby Acker graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and a Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Texas Women’s University in Denton, TX. She currently is an Associate therapist working on hours for her full license. Kolby’s previous experience includes counseling adolescents in a partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient setting. She also has experience counseling families, children, individuals, and couples through her campus clinic while in her graduate program. While completing her master’s degree, Kolby worked with children with Autism as an ABA Therapist for over 5 years. She worked with children as young as 2 years old.
Kolby is passionate about creating a strong therapeutic relationship with clients of any age. She believes in creating a safe space for clients to explore who they want to become is the best form of healing.
