Julie Talcott joined the Center for Counseling and Family Relationships in 2018. She earned her Masters in Marriage and Family Therapy program from The King’s University in 2018. Julie completed her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology at Slippery Rock University and earned a teaching credential from the University of California-Irvine. She became a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapy Associate and Licensed Professional Counselor Intern in 2018.  Julie has been trained in Gottman Level 1 for couples and completed an externship in Emotionally Focused Therapy. Prior to becoming a counselor, Julie served as the Financial Manager for the Fort Worth Crisis Pregnancy Center. She learned these skills by owning a business for 7 years, where she managed all Financial and HR activities for the corporation. Julie taught for 7 years in the states of California and Texas.
Her previous counseling experience was in a non-profit private practice setting working with adult individuals, couples, adolescents, and families.

Julie’s first priority in the counseling room is to provide a place where clients feel safe to share.
She has a passion for bringing hope to hurting people and helping them create healthier relationships. Julie uses a variety of resources for clients and believes that long-lasting change happens on an emotional level. Her approach focuses on the emotion that is driving behavior. Julie enjoys encouraging parents through the many challenges of parenting and co-parenting, as well as helping blended families navigate their unique challenges.

Julie works with adolescents, adults, couples and families with the following issues: Adult ADHD, anger management, anxiety, blended families, depression, integrating faith into counseling, grief/loss, marital/relationship, parenting issues, pre-marital, self-esteem, women’s health and spirituality.
