Robert Townley joined the Center for Counseling and Family Relationships in 2018. He earned his Masters of Science in Rehabilitation Counseling from the University of North Texas. Robert became Licensed as a Professional Counselor in 2017. In his previous career, he was a professional firefighter for a local municipality. During his firefighting career, Robert led a team trained to assist first responders in managing trauma they experienced through critical incidents. He is also a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor. As a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor, Robert understands the challenges of having a disability, both physically and mentally. He is also certified as a Prepare Enrich Facilitator. This training has equipped him to be more effective in working with couple.

Robert understands that clients may be hesitant to share the details of their individual history. He is committed to providing a counseling environment that is calm, safe and non-judgmental. Robert counts trust and honesty as the hallmarks of healthy relationships. He believes his role as a counselor is to assist the client in finding solutions to their unique challenges.

Robert specializes in working with couples, adolescents, and adults of all ages. His areas of focus include anxiety, brain injury, couples/marriage/pre-marital, depression, disability, grief/loss, and PTSD/trauma, relationship difficulties, and spirituality.
