Hi prospective client! My name is Quin and I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor who’s been working in the counseling profession since 2020. I graduated from Wayne State University with my Masters in Counselor Education, although Jackson State University is where I initially planted my therapeutic roots. I’ve worked in various settings, including community mental health, outpatient, a residential treatment facility, and now private practice. I place great value on my personal self-growth to help guide clients along their mental health journeys, so I am grateful to have worked in these different settings.
I specialize in helping clients identify and achieve their personal goals by coping with the issues that are causing them distress. I take great pride in the success of my clients and I honestly love the work I do.
Outside of sessions, I enjoy spending time with my family and my church. I currently serve with my church’s praise team and choir and have been involved with the deaf ministry learning American Sign Language for the past year. I also love reading and writing, which helps me continually foster my Christian beliefs to help others.

I became a counselor to help clients like yourself find the mental health help they need and to provide a safe space to explore those needs. That being said, my use of therapeutic techniques is uniquely tailored to each client. These techniques include Play Therapy, Person-Centered Therapy, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT).
My approach with children will differ from that with teens, adults, and couples. Children learn through play, and Play Therapy offers a way for children to openly communicate their personal experiences in a judgment-free environment. Teens typically undergo multiple life transitions. Person-Centered Therapy and CBT help clients identify problem areas and begin working on personal goals. Depending on the client, I may incorporate work related to self-esteem issues, negative core beliefs, and/or strengths-based counseling. I also offer faith-based counseling for those who want to incorporate spiritual beliefs into their counseling sessions.
I believe that each client is capable of growing into their best possible self as long as they’re willing to put in the necessary work and stay committed to their goals. Setbacks do not equate to failures, and the Bible reminds us that with faith, all things are possible (Matthew 19:26). Be proud of yourself for taking this first step in your mental health journey, and hopefully, I’ll see you soon!
