Jeff Parker

Hi! My name is Jeff. My faith has been an important influence in my life and in my decision to become a counselor. I’ve always enjoyed connecting with people, and my interest in psychology has made counseling a natural fit for me. I earned my Master of Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Tarleton State University after completing my undergraduate studies at Dallas Baptist University.

I enjoy working with children, adolescents, adults, parents, and families. My areas of interest include anxiety, ADHD and behavioral challenges, as well as grief and trauma. I also work with people facing significant life changes or trying to better understand themselves. Whatever brings you to counseling, I want to get to know you as an individual and understand what you’re facing rather than make assumptions about what you need.

Outside of counseling, I love sports and road trips (especially trips that take me through small towns). I was drafted in the Major League out of high school, so sports have been part of my life for a long time. And when I’m staying closer to home, Joe T. Garcia’s is one of my favorite Fort Worth stops!

My Counseling Approach

I’m a pretty laid-back person, and that carries into the counseling room. I want you to feel comfortable talking honestly without worrying about being judged. There’s no expectation that you’ll know exactly where to begin, and you don’t have to discuss anything before you’re ready. I’ll take the time to understand what you’re going through so we can figure out what might help.

I enjoy talk therapy and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), but I don’t believe any particular method should be more important than the person sitting in front of me. We’ll start with what you’re experiencing and what you’d like to change, then decide together how to approach it. Sometimes that means looking more closely at what’s behind a problem or recognizing patterns that may be keeping you stuck. Other times, we may focus on practical ways to handle a difficult situation. Either way, I want our work to help you better understand yourself and feel more confident about how to move forward.
