ALISON “ALI” FESCENMEYER

Hey y’all! I am so glad you are here, I am Ali, a Licensed Professional Counselor, Baylor Bear, and Fort Worth native! After graduating from the University of Houston with my Masters in Counseling, I began working in outpatient settings with parents, children, teens, and adults. I help my clients in developing their emotional regulation, building healthy coping skills and boundaries, addressing experiences of trauma, and developing a strong sense of self.

When I am not in the office, you will find me spending my time as a mom to my two children and wife to my high school sweetheart. I love to cook for friends and family, read, or spend time binge watching a good tv show with our doodle Heidi.

My Counseling Approach

Alison "Ali" Fescenmeyer Profile Picture

I believe that our past experiences and memories shape who we are and who we will become in the future. With that in mind, sometimes those experiences have created maladaptive behaviors, emotions, or thoughts that change how we interact with others or how we see ourselves. Those experiences can create sadness, anxiety, or struggles in your daily life that need to be addressed.

I am a firm believer in meeting you where you are. You are the expert in your own life thus we will work collaboratively to help equip you with the skills needed to create change. There is no one size fits all approach in counseling. To help achieve your goals, I tailor treatment to each person using Person-Centered Therapy, Strengths-Based Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and EMDR.

I have a particular passion for working with children and their parents/caregivers because childhood is such a critical time for emotional and social development. I utilize play therapy to help build emotional regulation, increase self-esteem, and develop coping skills through children’s natural ability to communicate through play. I will walk alongside parents and help develop skills needed to create structure in your home as well as in your children’s school environment.

I am committed to providing a safe and empathetic counseling environment. I am honored to be a part of the process with you!
