BECKY  EVANS

Hi, my name is Becky Evans, and I’m glad you’re here!

I strongly believe the relationship between client and counselor is the most important factor in a successful counseling experience, so I appreciate you taking the time to learn a little bit about me to see if I might be a good fit. I have been a Licensed Professional Counselor since 2008, and have spent my counseling career working with children, teens, adults and families in a variety of settings. I am passionate about being a safe, supportive person for my child and teen clients, as well as helping parents learn different ways of supporting their children who are struggling.

In my personal life, I am a committed Coach’s wife, an adoptive mom of two beautiful children, a lover of coffee, and an avid reader. When I am not in the counseling office, you can probably find me spending time with my family, at the football or baseball field, or relaxing with a good book!

My Counseling Approach

Becky Evans Profile Picture

In my work with clients, I like to draw from a variety of counseling modalities, depending on what best meets the client’s needs, developmental level, and desired outcome. I strive to give my clients tangible tools and skills they can use to better cope with life’s stressors, pulling from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, and Child Centered Play Therapy. I also specialize in Trust-Based Relational Intervention (TBRI®), which is an attachment-based, trauma-informed intervention designed to meet the complex needs of vulnerable children who have experienced adversity, early harm, toxic stress, and/or trauma.

With my child and teen clients, I seek to discover the needs behind behaviors, see the “whole child,” and help each client process their emotions and learn to manage them in healthy ways. I also love to walk alongside parents as they navigate the difficulties of parenting and help encourage and equip them as they support their children. As an adoptive mom myself with a special needs child, I have a heart for helping parents who are experiencing the joys and challenges that come along with adoption or other unique parenting circumstances. I strive to provide my clients with a safe space where they can feel seen, heard, and supported, and would feel honored to walk this journey with you!
